Embark on a journey through China’s history, culture and natural beauty. Wander through Beijing’s imperial landmarks, examine ancient relics in Xi’an, and admire pandas in Sichuan before rounding off your travels in Shanghai – the “Paris of the East.” Along the way, walk upon the Great Wall, explore Xi’an’s Muslim Quarter, taste the famous spiciness of Sichuan cuisine, and explore Shanghai’s colonial charm in the French Concession. Experience a colorful overview of the fabric of this 5,000-year-old country as you visit China’s palaces and pandas.

Itinerary
Day 1 - 3 Beijing
Upon arrival in Beijing, meet your local guide and enjoy some leisure time before the welcome dinner • Join the expert-led taichi lesson in the serene Temple of Heaven • Unravel China’s imperial past in the Forbidden City • Indulge in a private cooking experience and an authentic local dinner within a traditional hutong courtyard • Embark on an excursion along the majestic Great Wall.
Day 4 Beijing - Xi'an
Fly to Xi’an • Ascend Xi’an’s legendary city wall for panoramic views of the ancient city and the vibrant metropolis beyond • Stroll through the bustling streets and stalls of the Muslim Quarter • Experience Xi’an with more than just your eyes by sampling some of Xi’an’s famous dishes.
Day 5 Xi'an
Witness the proudly unflinching, life-sized Terracotta Warriors standing guard • Engage in the ancient art of calligraphy by exploring a collection of inscribed stone tablets in Stele Forest, and practicing the craft with a local master
Day 6 Xi'an - Chengdu
Explore outside the city walls to marvel at the grandeur of the Wild Goose Pagodas, ancient landmarks rich in historical and architectural importance • Later, journey to Chengdu aboard a high-speed train, showcasing one of China’s remarkable technological advancements.
Day 7 Chengdu
Get up close with giant pandas at Dujiangyan Panda Base and join a volunteer program to see them in action • Stroll down the Kuan Zhai Alleyways, where Qing Dynasty buildings house trendy coffee shops, bars, and boutiques • Taste the fiery spirit of Sichuan with a communal hotpot dinner featuring spicy broth and a variety of meats and vegetables • Marvel at the rapid skill of “face-changing” at a Sichuan Opera show.
Day 8 Chengdu - Shanghai
Explore a bustling local spice market, then craft and savor authentic Sichuan delicacies in a hands-on cooking class guided by a local seasoned chef • Witness a mesmerizing kung fu tea performance inspired by tai chi and kung fu movements, surrounded by the hovering bamboo in Wangjianglou Park • Prepare for the next flight to Shanghai.
Day 9 Shanghai
Once a private Ming Dynasty park, Fuxing Park is now a vibrant hub of local life in Shanghai • Explore the elegant streets of the Former French Concession, steeped in colonial charm and once home to Shanghai’s elite • Join Dr. Evan in his tranquil Shanghai home for a relaxed introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine, experiencing the effects of ear seed therapy • Discover the blend of old and new in Xintiandi, where restored facades hide international eateries, boutiques, and bars.
Day 10 Shanghai
Immerse in the traditional beauty of Yuyuan Garden, a Ming Dynasty creation featuring manicured gardens, rockeries, pavilions, and a teahouse • Wander through the bustling Yuyuan Bazaar in Shanghai’s old town, a treasure trove of souvenirs and local snacks • Join a knowledgeable guide for a tour of Shanghai’s historical landmarks, such as the renowned Bund showcasing its mix of art deco and neoclassical architecture • Return to your hotel for some leisure time before your farewell dinner.
Day 11 Depart from Shanghai
Zip towards Pudong International Airport at well over 400km/hour on the Maglev • Your local guide will help you check in for your departure flight.
